Exploring Instantaneous Speed in 5th Grade—A Design Research

Between 2010 and 2016 I have worked on a PhD project at the Eindhoven School of Education (ESoE), the teacher training institute of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). I present my thesis, research, and the educational materials I developed and used here. Furthermore I was also a teaching assistant for the course Bètadidactiek (2012, 2013) and participated in the Education Office. In that role, I generated a map of the service area of the ESoE.

Computer Science

In 2009 I graduated from the ESoE at the TU/e with a Master’s Degree in Science Education and Communication, track Computer Science. My Master Thesis is about the pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) of teachers teaching an introductory programming course.

From 2009 to 2011 I taught the optional course Computer Science (Dutch: Informatica) in secondary education to grades 10 - 12. In 2010 I also taught an compulsory course on ICT (Dutch: Informatiekunde) in grade 9. An important part of my teaching practice was the development and use of my own educational materials.

I wrote text books on programming in PHP, regular expressions, and searching on the internet. These and more materials are made available to all under the Creative Commons licence. You can find them on this page (Dutch only).
